2010 DST Quick Guide

Note: If you programmed your non-atomic ES700 previously for the updated DST change dates, you should not have to program the DST change dates again for 2010. The unit remembers the start date as the second Sunday in March and the end date as the first Sunday in November. Once set, the clock automatically updates the settings every year thereafter. No further manual setting is necessary unless the law regarding the start and end dates of DST changes again.

Use the instructions below if you did not set up your clock for automatic DST change dates or for whatever reason need to change your DST programming for 2010.

General Information

To enter the program setting mode, plug the AC cord into the AC outlet and remove the cover. Next press the [SELECT] button once. The recorder changes into the program mode showing the upward pointing arrow on the display positioned under the TIME mark.

Note: If you see the following display when you press the [SELECT] button, it means that a password has been set for the clock. You will need to enter the password before you can make any setting updates. Refer to your user manual if you need more information.

Setting the 2009 DST Start and End Dates

  1. Press the [SELECT] button 11 times to position the downward pointing arrow next to the DST START mark. The flashing Year means it can be changed.
  2. Press the [CHANGE] button as needed until the year displays 10 and press the [SET] button. The flashing changes from Year to Month.
  3. Press the [CHANGE] button to set the month to 3 (March) and press the [SET] button. The flashing changes from Month to Date.
  4. Press the [CHANGE] button to set the date to 14 and press the [SET] button. The starting date of the display changes from flashing to steady and the upward pointing arrow mark is displayed under SU.
  5. Press the [SELECT] button one time to position the downward pointing arrow next to the DST END mark. The flashing Year means it can be changed.
  6. Press the [CHANGE] button as needed until the year displays 10 and press the [SET] button. The flashing changes from Year to Month
  7. Press the [CHANGE] button to set the month to 11 (November) and press the [SET] button. The flashing changes from Month to Date.
  8. Press the [CHANGE] button to set the date to 7 and press the [SET] button three times to confirm the settings.
Important: Printing will not occur unless the confirmation step is completed.
